RUBAU GROUP, in a joint venture with Climava, has been awarded the remodeling works for the Plenary Hall and adjacent spaces located on the underground floor of the Can Serra building, the current headquarters of the Barcelona Provincial Council.
The remodeling project aims to update and equip the Provincial Council’s Plenary Hall with the latest technology. To achieve this, the use of the current hall will be reconsidered, ensuring the optimal functioning of its spaces and versatility. Additionally, all spaces will be adapted to make them fully accessible, and the facilities will be upgraded to enhance technical and audiovisual capabilities. All of these improvements will contribute to giving the hall a more updated image and greater representativeness of the institutional space.
This intervention, scheduled for completion during the last quarter of 2024, is part of the comprehensive rehabilitation process of the Can Serra building, which will be carried out in the medium term. This modernist architectural gem, designed by Josep Puig i Cadafalch, is located at Rambla Catalunya 126 in Barcelona and, together with the annexes by Federico Correa and Alfonso Milà, was declared a Cultural Property of National Interest in 2001.
The conservation and maintenance works of the Eix Transversal (C-25), along with all associated services for its safety and proper functioning, will be carried out starting this February by the joint venture (UTE) formed by RUBAU, Sorigué, Romero Polo, and Acisa.
