L’Energètica, the public company of the Generalitat of Catalonia for the production and supply of renewable energy, has pre-selected for acquisition, at a cost of 2.9 million euros, the solar park that Prenergy (Grupo Rubau) has built in Vidreres.
The solar park promoted by Prenergy in Vidreres has a peak capacity of 3.4 MWp, which is equivalent to 50% of the total energy consumption of the households in this municipality, with a population of over 8,000 inhabitants. The infrastructure spans 5.6 hectares and includes 4,872 photovoltaic panels of 695 Wp. Construction was completed this October, and it is expected to be authorized for operation during the first quarter of 2025.
The pre-selection highlights the excellent execution of the project. Six projects were submitted in response to the public call for solar park purchases, of which only two met the technical and economic requirements of the public company. It is worth noting the municipal support for the project, given that it is reclaiming a previously anthropized area affected by the proximity and impact of a major roadway infrastructure, as it is located on the site of an abandoned motocross track near the C-35 highway.
Additionally, the infrastructure allows for the creation of an energy community comprised of the nearby municipalities, aimed at promoting collective self-consumption and encouraging the production, consumption, storage, and sharing of renewable energy.
