Rubau has been renowned for some time for both commitment to and advances in the field of occupational risk prevention.
Rubau was one of the first Spanish companies to make a commitment to risk prevention management and since 1996 has had an occupational risk prevention management system integrated into the general management of the company, which is currently certified under the ISO 45001 standard. However, the most important contribution of the company in this field has been through the campaign Construyamos seguros [Let’s Build Safely]. This ambitious campaign was launched in the year 2000 and focuses on 8 important key areas. It is designed to provide technical and pedagogical tools to reduce industrial accident rates.
The significant commitment of the company in this area has been rewarded and well recognised at regional and national levels, most recently with the DIPLOOS National Work Safety Trophy.
OCCUPATIONAL RISK PREVENTION POLICY
- Achieve an optimal level of Health and Safety in work centres both nationally and internationally, complying with current legislation and other requirements that exist in this area. The company undertakes to accomplish this, along with its firm commitment to the prevention of injury and ill health, within a framework of continuous improvement in its health and safety initiatives.
- Foster consultation, training, information and the participation of all employees in the area of occupational risk prevention, including subcontractors.
- Achieve a high level of satisfaction among employees regarding their working conditions.
- Achieve a high level of client satisfaction regarding the management of occupational risk prevention in the company’s work centres, both nationally and internationally.
WORKPLACE ROAD SAFETY POLICY
As part of Construcciones Rubau’s commitment to ensuring the safety and health of everyone contributing to the efficient development of its activities, the company has established the need to define specific actions aimed at minimizing traffic accident risks, protecting the lives and health of employees, and promoting safe and responsible driving practices.
For this reason, the Management implements, maintains, and continuously improves a road safety management system in accordance with the ISO 39001 standard, committing to:
- Promoting a culture of sustainable and safe mobility within the scope of the road safety management system to work toward zero accidents, where no person suffers fatalities or serious injuries from road incidents.
- Identifying key risk factors to ensure the health and safety of all stakeholders.
- Enhancing awareness, education, and information for personnel about driving risk factors, including health-related risks that affect driving ability.
- Engaging all employees to foster road safety improvement actions and actively involving contractors, suppliers, and other potential stakeholders in the continuous enhancement of road safety culture.
- Ensuring the optimal operation of company vehicles and incorporating road safety specifications in vehicle procurement for fleets and transportation services.
- Transparently reporting road safety performance results periodically, both internally and externally.
- Integrating the road safety management system with other standards certified by the organization.
- Complying with applicable workplace road safety regulations.
